Whether arriving via winding roads or turquoise waters, the Amalfi Coast is unlike any where else on earth. Stunning mountains, pastel towns tucked in every cove, with hundreds of striped umbrellas peppering the coastline. Inspiration is around every corner.
Curtis, Dean and I spent two weeks staying in Capri enjoying swims in the Mediterranean, boat rides to explore the grottos, hikes and walks and shopping galore! Along the way, I was taking photos and making sketches. There were a few details that stuck out to me to include in my paintings -- the many different boats, the stacks of buildings and the colorfully bold umbrellas!
Because my mind was on inspiration overload, I worked on nine small pieces plus a handful of sketches while we were there. Then, I returned to my studio and worked from my Italian creations to bring to life large scale pieces.
So, please enjoy a trip to The Amalfi Coast through my eyes!
