The Color of Home: The Show

Call me crazy... but I saw this raw space in January 2018 and thought it would make the perfect spot for an art show. My husband and I spent our weekends cleaning every inch of this space. At one point, Curtis even had a vacuum cleaner in the rafters.

Then, was the real transformation moment... I had it painted all white. I was absolutely terrified when I pulled up to see how it looked. Was it going to be a total mess or would it look incredible?

It looked incredible! I was SCREAMING with excitement.

The art was painted, so now it was time to get everything up on the walls! Now, are any of you stubborn? Because I am! I told my mom a million times I didn't need her help setting up though she continued to offer. Of course, I called her a week before the show and begged her to get her butt down to Charleston! As an extrovert, I not only needed the extra set of hands, I needed someone to talk my ideas out with. Plus, she is an amazing interior designer, so she has a great eye for this kind of thing. We make a good team! *Cue embarrassing photos of us getting sh*t done!*

Once everything was hung, Celadon came in and completed my vision. They warmed the space up with incredible chandeliers, jute and turkish rugs, plants, sofas, and more. Seriously, I was blown away with all they did!

I can't believe how many people came through those doors. Old friends, new friends, neighbors, artists I admire, and my sweet family. I was thrilled to get to chat with everyone and couldn't have imagined a better evening.
