It’s the ritual of sweeping the front porch, and draping linens on the old rickety garden table.
It’s filling the glasses and breaking the bread. Lighting the candles and snipping some flowers for the centerpiece.
As our loved ones fill chairs and benches- the food is devoured, the stories are told, and the laughter fills the humid air.
This is the art of entertaining, and the heart of ‘Al Fresco.’
Starting with large colorful pieces, I am hoping you’ll feel immersed in the scenes and joyful memories will float to your mind.
There will be two 40x60 pieces, ten 26x40 pieces, and six 19x25 pieces. They are all acrylic and oil on cotton paper with a deckled edge. We decided to go with a natural wood frame with the pieces floated inside on a white mat.
These will be called ‘Al Fresco in Color’ and released June 3rd at 10am EST.
I then moved on to using only blue pencil or chalk pastel on cream paper. I challenged myself to capture these feelings in a simplistic way. It’s always fun to have a challenge! There will be nine 22x30 pieces, six 11x15 pieces, and 9 framed tiny sardine pieces.
This collection will be entitled ‘Al Fresco in Blue + White’ and releasing on June 10th at 10am EST.
I can’t wait to share these pieces with you - they are some of my favorite I’ve ever made!
