I’m so excited to share this year’s Al Fresco collection with you, my seventh! Each time I return to this series, it gives me a chance to approach painting with a fresh perspective, to experiment, play, and let the work unfold naturally. For this collection, I found myself inspired by the places I know best.

While my Al Fresco pieces can sometimes lean more Mediterranean, this collection is inspired by my tried and true: the East Coast. I grew up in Annapolis, now call Charleston home, and returned to Maine this summer, a place we’ve visited several times before. Each of these coastal towns has its own distinct charm, but they’re all shaped by the same waters. It’s had me thinking a lot about Eastern Americana: fresh seafood, boat-filled harbors, citrus, stripes, and the simple pleasures of dining by the water.

I wanted these pieces to feel light, relaxed, and a little nostalgic. I’ve loved letting the paint move freely across the canvas, layering color and texture to capture the feeling of these places and the memories they hold.

I hope this collection brings a little bit of that feeling into your home, a reminder to slow down, gather around the table, and savor the season.
