The marsh has always been a place of beginnings for me—the first subject I ever painted and a muse I continually return to.
Being on the water always brings me joy—navigating hidden channels, watching the grasses sway, breathing in the stillness. Some days it’s perfectly glassy, other times it glows in golden light, but it always feels alive and ever-changing.
In this series, I turned to rich, saturated tones. The paintings aren’t literal depictions of the marsh, but an expression of how it feels to be surrounded by its light, color, and movement.
