As this is my fifth year revisiting the beloved ‘Sun, Moon + Sea’ collection, I wanted to approach the canvas differently. Typically, I sketch each scene in pencil prior to using paint. I wanted to explore the contrast of some without these lines and really let the paint just flow on the canvas.
Switching between this idea, some of the works have more structure with the pencil lines while others are more loose without. I love both techniques but find that each has their own unique spin on this series. Whether it be a pathway to the beach, the smell of salt grass or the breeze of a seaside, the water is always a place of discovery.
The first release will be 13 works on raw canvas and the second release will be 12 works on paper. I hope you feel close to the coast when you view this pieces.
'Sun, Moon + Sea' Works on Canvas will be released Thursday, October 3rd at 10AM EST and Works on Paper will be released the following Thursday, October 10th at 10AM EST.
