As this is my sixth year revisiting the ‘Sun, Moon + Sea’ series, I decided to paint only on raw canvas. I’m drawn to how the surface absorbs the paint—colors soften, edges blur, and each mark feels a bit less controlled. The medium suits the ever-shifting nature of the coast.

Whether it’s a path to the beach, the smell of salt grass, or a steady coastal breeze, the water remains a place I return to. It’s familiar, but never fixed.

This year, I kept things pared back—more space, fewer gestures, and a focus on tone and movement rather than detail. These pieces are less about capturing a specific place and more about holding onto a feeling.

I hope these pieces bring you a little closer to the coast.

I’m completely in love with the painting of the moon reflecting off of the dark blue ocean. What size and price is this piece. It is the middle painting on the far left. Thank you, Debbie
