We wrapped up summer travels with a month in Northern California. First, we flew out to Sonoma, with my Grandmother to see a show my brother was performing in. The show was amazing, and was with Transcendence Theatre which performs at the Jack London's Historic Property.
The next week, I participated in a plein air class with Camille Przewodek in Petaluma, CA.
It was challenging and fun to work with oils, after working with acrylics for so long. She did an incredible job of showing light, and color variations depending on the time of day. I learned a lot, and am excited to implement it into my work.
From there, Curtis’s family and my family joined us in Sonoma! We played games, drank wine, did an olive oil tasting and mostly just laughed a lot.
And finally, a road trip with my family along the coast. We started in Sonoma, drove west to Point Reyes National Park. Drove along the coast to Albion and stayed in an incredible AirBnb.
Spent time frolicking through the Avenue of the Giants. I was amazed by the Redwoods. I’ve never experienced something so magically large that made me feel so tiny!
Eventually, we headed back south… I locked the keys in the car at an In and Out, and then we flew home to Charleston. It was a great month of exploring, learning, and getting inspired!
