2017 - Silk Scarves

Growing up I was enthralled by my Mimi’s silk scarves. I would raid her top drawer, and tie as many of them around my six year-old self, as possible. I loved the colors, patterns, and texture. She would “Ooo” and “Ahh” as I danced throughout the house. For my twenty-first birthday, she gave me three of her scarves to keep! Silk scarves are artful pieces, to be passed down, to hang in a room, to add complexity to a simple outfit. When creating my own, I was inspired by my two grandmothers, Jane and Joan. They are strong, creative, and kind, women. I hope you feel strong, creative, and kind when your scarf is wrapped around you.
